INFORMATION
City Island’s Park Rangers provide information and assistance to visitors from the Information Center just off the Walnut St. Bridge; visitors can recognize Park Rangers by their distinctive brown uniforms. Call 717-233-8275, 717-232-7749 or 717-255-3131 and ask for a Park Ranger.
PARKING
Ample parking is available in downtown garages and on City Island’s two Parking Lots and multi-story garage. Nominal fees are charged weekdays until 3:00 pm, before sporting games, holiday weekends, and during City Special Events. On other times and days, parking is free to the public. Handicap parking available.
BOATERS WELCOME
Boaters can launch their boats free from the Boat-Launching Ramp at the south end of City Island.

DIRECTIONS
City Island is accessible by foot via the restored Walnut St. Bridge or by car via the Market St. Bridge over the Susquehanna River. The Market St. Bridge can be reached by going east on Market St. in Lemoyne-Camp Hill or west on Market St. in downtown Harrisburg. Market St.-Harrisburg can be reached by the 2nd St. exit off I-83 or the South Front St. exit off I-81.

Arcade & Batting CagesCITY ISLAND ARCADE & BATTING CAGES
Located just off the Walnut St. Bridge, the arcade and batting cages are open April 1 thru May 15, weekdays 5 pm to 8:30 pm. Weekends 11 am to 9 pm. May 15 thru Labor Day everyday 11 am to 10 pm. September thru October weekends only 11 am to 8 pm.

Beach houseCITY ISLAND BEACH & BEACH HOUSE
Visitors can swim in a beautiful setting at City Island Beach, FREE. Signs are posted for lifeguard hours. Beach House is open weekends only Late May through early June from 12 pm-7:30 pm. The beach opens daily starting Mid-June through Labor Day, from 12 pm-7:30 pm.

CITY ISLAND MARINAS
Serious boaters can find summer-long docking space May through mid-October at any of City Island’s three marinas, located north of the Walnut St. Bridge and south of the Market St. Bridge. Watercraft rentals are also available at select marinas.

City Island RailroadCITY ISLAND RAILROAD
View all of City Island’s sites by catching a ride on our scaled-version of the Civil War-era steam train, “The General” or the San Francisco-style trolley. Train departs every half hour. Light snacks are available at the depot. Hours: April, May, September & October, weekends, 11:30 am to 7 pm; Memorial Day thru Labor Day, daily, 11:30 am to 8 pm. Group rates available.

Harrisburg CarriageHARRISBURG CARRIAGE CO.
Step into style with a horse-drawn carriage ride tour of City Island and downtown Harrisburg. Horses, carriages and drivers are available for weddings, parties, parades, and other special occasions. Open 6-10 pm weekdays and 1-10 pm weekends year-round. When weather permits, horse-drawn sleigh rides are also available. Reservations suggested.

Senators BaseballHARRISBURG SENATORS BASEBALL
The Harrisburg Senators AA affiliate of the Washington Nationals carries on a sports tradition begun in 1901. This pro baseball team entertains hundred’s of thousands of eager fans on warm summer evenings at the Commerce Bank Park each season. Since their formation in 1987, they have sent up more than 200 players to the Major Leagues and are the first team in league history to win four Eastern League titles. The Senators’ season begins April and runs thru September.

You and your family can “Go Fly A Kite” when you visit the “Island Breezes Kite Shop.” Many varieties of kites, windsocks, air toys, gliders, boomerangs, yoyos, tops and other unique toys are available from the shop located at the north end of RiverSide Village Park. Catch a ride back in time on the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat. The stern paddlewheel riverboat offers daily public cruises, dinner cruises, murder mystery cruises, and private charters. Water GolfWATER GOLF
One of the islands most unique attractions. This elaborate 18-hole course welcomes individuals, families and private parties. Top off the game with a pizza and a soda. ADDITIONAL ATTRACTIONS
City Island visitors can check out the historic replica of the John Harris Trading Post near the marina and take their children to Harbortown Playground. Also featured are Sand Volleyball Courts, an Outdoor Fitness Area and Skyline Picnic Pavilion. Observation areas and pavilions north of RiverSide Village Park offer a panoramic view of the River and Harrisburg’s skyline.
