Living History Re-enactors Wanted for 2008 Armed Forces Day Event

The committee organizing the 2008 Armed Forces Day event at City Island, Harrisburg, Pa., is looking for living history re-enactors of all eras and conflicts to be a part of this year’s must-attend event.

This is the largest AFD event in the Keystone state and will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 17th, 2008.

Re-enactors have played a vital role in previous Armed Forces Day activities on the island and the public highly appreciates their attendance. There is no cost to participate and admittance is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The re-enactors’ role would be to provide living history demonstrations to educate the visiting public on the life and lifestyle of the soldier, sailor, airmen, or marine of the time period they portray.

Re-enactor organizations are encouraged to contact Mike Randazzo, Communications Director, Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, at (717) 605-2448 or michael.randazzo@navy.mil, for information on how they can participate in this year’s Armed Forces Day event.
